Mashatu Green Season Symposium 2021

TOUR DETAILS
TOUR DATES
14 February 2021 - 20 February 2021 Space available

Andre, Isak and Shem would like to invite you to join C4 for a remarkable few days on a learning safari experience like no other.

There are not many photo symposiums in Africa and there certainly are not many symposiums in great wildlife areas. What better place to get a group of like-minded people together than in the arena of nature and then fill the time with inspiring talks, amazing imagery and tutor sessions- all about nature and wildlife photography.

Then when you think you have received as much information as possible, you go out on drive to photograph in one of Africa’s top wildlife destinations- Mashatu Game Reserve, to capture some of your own remarkable images.

Lastly this symposium is specifically designed to offer the most affordable way to experience a photo safari experience.

You will have the chance to learn the techniques to create your own stunning portfolio of wildlife photographs by having three professional photographers close at hand. Photographers of any level are welcome, whether you are picking up a camera for the first time, or if you are already an expert photographer, the C4 guides will help you take your photography to the next level.

Andre Cloete, Isak Pretorius and Shem Compion are the three owners of C4 Photo Safaris. All are highly acclaimed wildlife photographers having published books, won awards etc, but what they love most, is to share their intrinsic love of Africa, combined with their photographic knowledge with our clients. The combination of their experience is one of the top in Africa and so they would like to invite you to join them on this Mashatu Symposium.

Why Mashatu?

  • Traverse the wild and dramatic landscape of Mashatu Game Reserve in Botswana.
  • Mashatu has some of the best leopard viewing in Africa.
  • Top class lion and cheetah viewing and photography.
  • Experience some amazingly close up interactions with some of the most relaxed elephant herds in Africa.
  • The main aim of the symposium is to show you great sightings and teach you both technical and artistic skills to elevate your own photography.
  • Daily talks and presentations on photography by your C4 Photo Safaris guides- all aimed at teaching technical excellence, artistic flair and compositional insights.
  • We cater for all levels of photographers, from beginners to the experts – everyone will feel welcome.
  • The symposium is 6 days long and is longer than a typical photo workshop means that you have a better chance of seeing amazing sightings as well as a chance to explore all the genres of nature photography.
  • Unfenced with free roaming animals, this is an authentic African wilderness experience.

About your host, Andre Cloete

André grew up in the African bush with literally one hand on his binoculars and the other hand on the camera. An avid birdwatcher at that young age, he was given his first SLR in 1990. The passion of birding turned into one of photography and in 2004 Andre co-founded C4 Photo Safaris with Shem Compion.

About your host, Isak Pretorius

Isak was born to be a photographer, but before he discovered this, he became an engineer. Once he picked up a camera, his engineering career came to an end and Isak has now established himself as one of the top bird photographers in Africa. The benefit of his engineering training is his flawless technical knowledge of camera systems and the post processing software that accompanies them.
