INTRODUCTION
The idea of the Quarantine Safari came about after many weeks cooped up at home during a time that
took us all by surprise, especially for those within the Safari industry. Not has it been hard for travellers
to have cancelled safaris that took years of planning, but it’s equally so for those who wanted to share
these great wilderness experiences with you on safari.
As a result, the Quarantine Safari was born with a few simple and obvious factors in mind; get back out
into one of the greatest wildernesses on Earth as soon as safely possible, witness the rare spectacle of
a largely traveller free eco-system by taking advantage of the Moremi before it returns to former occupancy
levels and create an immersive Safari experience that suits a post Covid 19 wallet. Botswana is
notorious for inflated lodge rates and the often overcrowded reserves where Mobile camping Safaris are

LITTLE PAN
Four ultra-spacious safari tents and a large tented living area are set among mature trees – a twitcher’s
paradise. At night, the trees come alive with curious bushbabies jumping from tree to tree around
the campfire. With menus inspired by Ottolenghi and a wonderfully warm staff and kosher chef Mark
Stephenson, meals here are an absolute delight. Fresh ingredients are sourced and grown locally and
dishes feature plenty of wild basil, wild sage and sour plums found on the island.
Luxury canvas tents await, with a romantic outdoor Victorian bath in the honeymoon suite – bliss! Two
tents are contemporary 1950s Meru-style tents and two are family friendly with generous space for little
ones to sleep near parents.

CAPRICORN MOBILE CAMPING

The few places scattered across the continent where you have access to mobile camping vs permanent lodging are usually those sites within National Parks. The result of a non private traversing area usually means higher densities of vehicles, mobile camping sites and people. As we slowly look back on a world full of lockdowns, travel restrictions and economic challenges, there is likely no better time to mobile camp in Botswana. Moremi is well known for its incredible wildlife and wilderness. The mosaic of floodplain savannah, riparian forest and varying forms of Mopane woodland is a great foundation for the pulsation of life in Moremi. The strong seasonal wildlife movements honour the ways of old, intact ecosystems and the wildlife within it. As with every safari, we will only really know what is out there after reading the morning newspaper ie: the road in front of us, deciphering which species went where and which direction the land cruiser should follow.

KWARA CAMP

Kwara is located in the remote northern part of the stunning Okavango Delta within the private Kwara concession. The camp fronts onto a huge floodplain, adjacent to the permanent water of the Delta and is backed by extensive bush. The eight luxury safari-style tents are built on raised decks, within a grove of huge and ancient African Ebony trees. Resident hippos will generally serenade you year round from the water on the floodplain in front of the camp. Each tent has its own viewing deck, private en-suite facilities including hot and cold running showers, flush toilets and modern amenities. The forested island on which the camp sits is typical of those encountered throughout the vast 1.6 million hectares of the Okavango Delta. At Kwara, you will discover why the Okavango is considered one of the ecological wonders of Africa and indeed the world. It is mysterious, calming, unpredictable and very wild. Other than the good predators and large game sightings, November is also breeding season at the Godikwe Lagoon. Here herons, egrets, marabou storks and many other birds nest in an easily accessible colony which makes for great action photography.
