When planing a Helicopter safari in Namibia, one very rarely have to factor in rainfall as an element of surprise. Namibia is a very dry country and in April the rainy season has gone to sleep, a while ago. When we arrived in Sossusvlei on the 9th of April 2026, it was different than we have ever experienced before. Two days worth of Helicopter flights completely rained out in the oldest and driest desert of Africa. Nobody expected that, but on the last day, magic unfolded and the Desert was more beautiful than anyone could have ever imagined. This was a once-in-a-lifetime trip!
