Sophie Stafford

Writer, Editor and Photo Competition consultant

Sophie is an independent communications and photography consultant for many leading conservation charities, including WWF and the Natural History Museum of London, improving supporter engagement through the power of visual storytelling. She also helped to establish Rhino Conservation Botswana, empowering audiences worldwide to make a difference to the plight of Africa’s wild rhinos in her role as Communications Director.

Sophie was the Editor of the award-winning British magazine BBC Wildlife Magazine for nearly 10 years. During this time, she co-managed and judged the prestigious Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition, and helped countless photographers to develop their skills, realise their potential and reach new audiences with their work. She is an Affiliate of the International League of Conservation Photographers, and every year joins the juries of many world-leading photo competitions, from World Press Photo to BigPicture Natural World Photography Competition.
