As we gear up for the Mashatu Land of the Giants Cycle Event, I’m excited to share not just an upcoming adventure but a glimpse into how we as the C4 team, work towards a greater purpose. Our team consists of individuals who are passionate about conservation.
So, let’s ride for a cause. One that connects us to the land, the wildlife, and each other in our shared commitment to conservation.
If you’re looking for an adventure that combines beautiful landscapes, amazing wildlife sightings, the thrill of cycling, and an incredible opportunity to give back, then the Mashatu Land of the Giants Cycle Event is calling your name!
Set in the heart of the Mashatu Game Reserve, this event offers more than just a chance to ride through stunning landscapes; it’s an opportunity to contribute to something much bigger – the protection of wildlife.
From June 6-12, 2025, participants will cycle between 120-180 km over 3 days, all in support of raising 1 million Pula for anti-poaching efforts.
If someone asked me, “Why Mashatu? Why this event?”
Mashatu is a place that’s close to my heart. Having grown up in the reserve for the first few years of my life. It is one of the reasons I am who I am! But it’s so much more …
Can you imagine being able to contribute to a cause that safeguards an open reserve, such as the Northern Tuli Game Reserve, which is 72000 hectares, home to Mashatu Game Reserve, bordering both Zimbabwe and South Africa allowing animals to move freely for many more years to come.
Last year, I had the privilege of capturing this incredible event as part of the media team. This year, I’m returning on behalf of C4 Photo Safaris to document the riders' journey, their challenges, and the inspiring stories behind their efforts to protect Africa’s wildlife.
What’s the Event Like?
This is not your average cycling event. Imagine cycling with a group of friends or colleagues, challenging yourself on the 40-60 km of scenic trails per day and feeling the sense of camaraderie as you ride together across the African bush. The trails are beautifully diverse, weaving through some of the most iconic landscapes in the reserve, with spectacular views, challenges, encounters with wildlife, and a great deal of support from your fellow riders.
The event is designed for teams of no more than eight cyclists per team, and last year’s participants had an unforgettable time! This event is all about connecting with nature, fostering team spirit, and making a meaningful difference.
Teams – Get Ready to Join the Fun!
With the event right around the corner, there’s still time to get your team involved. Gather your friends, family, or colleagues and sign up today and make a difference!
